Common questions
A little more
clarity.
Straightforward answers about our service and Nurtured Practice.
What does JC Empowering Solutions offer?
Independent Regulation 44 visiting and reporting, Reg 44 Flow for independent visitors, and Nurtured Practice tools for home improvement and consultancy reviews. A separate Team Reflection meeting tool is coming soon.
Which Nurtured Practice edition is right for me?
Home Edition is designed for ongoing reflection and improvement within children’s homes. Consultancy Edition supports consultants carrying out independent reviews and preparing reports. Compare the editions.
Does Nurtured Practice replace professional judgement?
No. The prompts, guidance and structure support people to make and record their own professional judgements. It supports reflection and improvement; decisions remain with the people using it.
How long does a Regulation 44 visit take?
The standard service includes a minimum of three hours on site. The time required depends on the size and activity of the home.
Are visits announced or unannounced?
Visits may be announced or unannounced. Practical arrangements are discussed with the provider while preserving the independence of the role.
What happens during a visit?
A visit may include observation of the home, discussion with children and staff where appropriate, review of relevant records, and contact with parents, carers or professionals where relevant.
When is the written report completed?
The written Regulation 44 report is normally completed within five working days of the visit.
How is independence maintained?
The independent visitor monitors and reports. The visitor does not manage the home, direct staff, implement changes or replace the provider’s management and quality assurance responsibilities.
Where is Nurtured Practice work saved?
Home Edition uses account-based cloud saving. Consultancy Edition stores reviews in the browser on the consultant’s computer and provides backup and restore tools. Consultancy reviews do not automatically sync between people or devices.
How is Team Reflection different from Home Edition?
Team Reflection is a separate, focused staff-meeting tool: agendas, coaching and reflection prompts, minutes and action follow-up. Home Edition supports wider, ongoing reflection and improvement. They are not automatically connected. Explore Team Reflection.
Can I buy Team Reflection now?
Not yet. It is coming soon, with planned pricing of £249 for the first year and £349 on annual renewal, per home. Register interest; this does not start a subscription or take payment.
Where will Team Reflection records be saved?
In an editable home file that you save to your organisation’s approved secure storage and reopen when needed. Word minutes can be exported separately. There is no automatic cloud sync or simultaneous editing, so agree who keeps and updates the latest file.
Can I see Nurtured Practice before deciding?
Yes. Enquire about a demonstration and say which edition you are interested in.
How can I request fees or check availability?
Compare first-year and annual renewal prices for the practice tools. For Regulation 44 visiting fees and availability, use the enquiry form.
